Hannah Soni-Mahoney
Hey! My name is Hannah Soni-Mahoney. I’m a Graphic Designer and Marketing Specialist based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
I’ve always had a passion for design. In high school, I eagerly looked forward to any project that required a PowerPoint presentation. I didn't fully realize it at the time, but what drew me in was the opportunity to use design and visuals as means of communicating ideas.
In 2021, right in the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic, I moved to Toronto to pursue this passion, and I enrolled in Humber Polytechnic’s Advertising & Graphic Design program. The ADGRAF program is designed to meet industry demand for advertising art directors and graphic designers with solid strategic, visual, conceptual, typographical and technical skills. My classes focused on the study of advertising while emphasizing the development of important skills like creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork, and presentation skills.
In my second year at Humber, I joined the work-study program and took on design roles within the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHSW) and the Peer Assisted Learning Support Program (PALS).
As a Digital Media Intern for the PALS program, I garnered hands-on experience with social media management and analytics. I also worked with the PALS team to create, plan, and host on-campus events for students and faculty.

As a Communications and Multimedia Designer with the FHSW, I created visual and written content to aid in furthering the development of inter-professional education (IPE) in the medical sector. I created graphics and digital illustrations to accompany the faculty’s online articles and learning modules, as well as brand-adhering infographics, editorial layouts, and promotional content for a variety of their social media channels. I wrote and edited articles for online publication, held and directed interviews with faculty members, and contributed in designing the IPE website. This position allowed me to master my written and verbal communication skills, further my competency in website development and graphic design, and become proficient in Microsoft Suite.
In March of 2024, I took on the role of Brand Marketing Specialist at Advanced Business Interiors, here in Ottawa; I’ve gained invaluable experience and learned so much in this position. Since starting, I’ve led a complete overhaul of the company’s brand standards, designed a new, functional website prototype (currently in development), and revamped the format of the company’s sales bids. I am responsible for writing and designing all of the company’s digital and print marketing materials, internal communications, and sales bids and presentations. I also manage all social media channels and actively participate in the social committee, where I have led several successful fundraisers for local organizations in the Ottawa area. Additionally, I’ve taken new headshots for over 50 employees, contributing to a refreshed, cohesive brand image.
On a daily basis, I utilize Adobe Creative Cloud, PowerPoint, Ceros, Canva, and Mailchimp—platforms in which I have become highly proficient.
Outside of work, you'll often find me knitting, listening to music, attending concerts, or catching a movie!
